Honey in Ayurveda: A Rasayana You’ve Been Sleeping On

In Ayurvedic texts, honey is much more than a sweetener. It’s a Rasayana: a rejuvenator that nourishes all seven dhatus (tissues) in the body. It’s recommended for internal and external use and considered a carrier or “Yogavahi”, meaning it enhances the effects of herbs it’s mixed with.

Top Ayurvedic Uses of Honey
  • Mix with warm water and lemon in the morning to support digestion and fat metabolism.
  • Combine with turmeric for wound healing and acne treatment.
  • Use with tulsi and ginger juice to relieve cough and cold symptoms.
  • Add to herbal teas for improved absorption of nutrients.

“In Ayurveda, Madhu (honey) is said to possess the qualities of lekhana (scraping toxins), deepana (kindling digestion), and rasayana (rejuvenation).”

But none of that matters if the honey is heated or impure. That’s why Ayurdew Honey is raw, unfiltered, and harvested with Ayurvedic integrity in mind.
